The Canmore Museum is looking for local history and geoscience enthusiasts to join our family of dedicated volunteers. Meet people from around the world, be an ambassador for our community, and engage locals and visitors in our unique mountain history.

We are currently looking for volunteers for

  • Front Desk / Museum Ambassador

    Sell admission tickets to the museum, gift shop merchandise, and meet visitors from around the world: Read More.

  • NWMP Barracks

    Be an ambassador for Canmore’s history, sharing stories of the Great March West and the North West Mounted Police: Read More.

  • Roving Scientists

    Spend your summer afternoons hiking up to Grassi Lakes or hanging out at Riverside Park, pointing out interesting geological features to hikers and visitors: Read More.

  • Education Assistant

    Assist students and families with lessons and activities. Help answer questions and create a safe learning environment: Read More.

  • Museum Docent

    Docents conduct guided tours of the museum for diverse audiences. Using role play and storytelling, Docents provide visitors with a broader context of our exhibits: Read More.

  • Canmore Tours

    Familiarise visitors with the surrounding landscape and show them a great time in Canmore: Read More.
