Have you ever wanted to find out how a museum works, or learn more about the objects in a collection you don’t see on display? Ask a Curator day was started in 2010 to connect people to museum staff. Since 2010 this grassroots social media campaign has grown and seen Museums from across the globe answer all sorts of questions from Is your museum haunted? To, what is your museum doing to diversify your collection?
This year, the Canmore Museum is excited to participate in this event! In the run up to this year’s Ask a Curator Day on September 15, the museum is collecting your questions. On the 15th the Museum will release a video answering your real questions. If you have a question for Canmore Museum staff, send an email to info@canmoremuseum.com and include #AskaCurator in your subject line. The deadline to submit questions is September 10.
What can you ask? The simple answer is just about anything? Feel free to make your questions silly or serious, and about the Canmore Museum specifically or the work of a museum more generally.
