LEARNING IN THE GARDENS: WILD WELLNESS
Take a mindful step into nature with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS). This interactive program begins in the NWMP Barracks heritage gardens, then continues with a guided 1–2 km creekside walk along Policeman’s Creek. The pathway is stroller, wagon, and wheelchair accessible, making it a welcoming experience for all ages. Together, we’ll slow down, tune in, and discover how time outdoors (what CPAWS calls Vitamin N) nurtures both body and mind.
Through gentle movement, mindful observation, and a nature-based meditation, participants will explore the deep connections between wellness and the natural world. Research and traditional knowledge alike affirm the benefits of spending time outside: it sparks creativity, reduces stress, and cultivates calm.
🥾 Please bring comfortable walking shoes, a sun hat, sunscreen, plenty of drinking water, and whatever you need to stay comfortable outdoors.
🐾 Please note: this is a dog-free event.
Join us to reconnect with the land, your neighbours, and yourself in this afternoon of awe, wonder, and renewal.
Registration is required.
This event is part of the Canmore Museum’s Garden Gatherings series, generously funded by the Town of Canmore.
