Land Acknowledgement

Canmore and the Bow Valley are located within Treaty 7 territory. These are the traditional and ancestral territories of diverse Indigenous peoples, including the Îyârhe Nakoda comprised of the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, the Blackfoot Confederacy comprised of the Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika, the Ktunaxa, the Secwépemc, the Cree, and the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4.

Indigenous Peoples have cared for this land since longer than memory and continue to do so in the present. Their languages, traditions, culture, and stories help us to understand and steward this place.
