To celebrate his 65th birthday in 2021, Calgary adventurer Ben Berg wanted to summit 65 peaks in the Rockies in one year. Berg and his husband Larry Welsman started in January with a winter hike up Yates Mountain via Prairie View Trail. By the end of September, they had achieved their goal by scaling Mount Richardson in Lake Louise. The couple are also keen travellers, having journeyed over the years to 10 Canadian provinces and 2 territories, finishing last year in the Yukon.

Join Ben as he recounts their many adventures as well as discuss their experiences as gay hikers and travellers, offering his perspective of what communities can do to help queers – and all people – feel safe and welcome while travelling.
