Member Mondays are a fantastic way for Museum members to get acquainted with one another and with the work of the Canmore Museum. We invite members of the community to participate in Member Mondays as a way to learn about how members support the Canmore Museum and the many ways that the museum contributes to the Canmore community.
Many early Canmore residents used their entire yard for a vegetable garden, growing what was needed for the year. Then, as today in our heritage garden, potatoes, carrots, peas, beans, beets, cabbage, lettuce and tomatoes were grown.
On September 19, members will have the opportunity to learn more about our heritage garden program and help our dedicated group of garden volunteers with harvesting our root vegetable crop for the season. Each year, the garden’s vegetable yield goes to the Canmore Food Bank, helping to contribute to food sustainability for vulnerable populations in the Bow Valley; to learn more about how you can support this important organization, visit www.bowvalleyfoodbank.ca.
Light refreshments will be served after the harvest is complete in the Barracks.
