Member Mondays are a fantastic way for Museum members to get acquainted with one another and with the work of the Canmore Museum. We invite members of the community to participate in Member Mondays as a way to learn about how members support the Canmore Museum and the many ways that the museum contributes to the Canmore community.

On October 17, join Jeanie Gartley, the Canmore Museum’s Associate Heritage Planner, to learn more about the Museum’s Uncovering Canmore’s Heritage project and to help identify the major themes in Canmore’s history from different erra’s of human engagement with the area we know today as Canmore. This projects is building off the provincial heritage building survey completed in 1982 and the updated 2002 heritage survey undertaken by the museum in 2022, and will determine the scope of Canmore’s heritage that remains in place today, as well as to identify places of meaning to the Stoney Nakoda and places of interest to Canmore residents today. The project end goal is to support the protection and preservation of Canmore’s heritage, to map our heritage resources and to tell a fuller stories through the places that have meaning to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Canmore and the Bow Valley today.

Not a member? Consider supporting the Canmore Museum’s work in our local community through a membership. Learn more about the value of a membership and how to purchase a membership online.
