Met with sunny skies, members of the Museum’s staff and Board hosted a socially distanced garden party on August 19 as a way to bring the Museum’s volunteers together after lock down and thank them with their work during this past year. Along with afternoon tea, volunteers were treated with with music by members of the Rocky Mountain Orchestra Brass Trio.
Following this lovely live performance, Board member Rhonde LeSeuer introduced the Museum’s new Executive Director, Ron Ulrich, to the over 30 volunteers gathered. Ulrich spoke of his early volunteer work in museums and how that experience has shaped his museum work since before introducing the staff. He then introduced Susan Suttie, the Museum’s new Volunteer Coordinator, herself a dedicated volunteer with many years of volunteer coordination experience, who shared about some of the volunteer opportunities available this fall and the approach she will be taking to the volunteer program.
Thank you again to all of our many volunteers for all your hard work over this past year. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Canmore Museum when we re-open.
If you would like volunteer, or would like to learn more about how you can support the Museum by volunteering either at the Museum or at home, please email Susan Suttie. She would be delighted to hear from you.
I would like to extend a big thank you to all those who helped make the day such a success.
– Ron Ulrich, Executive Director
